His Royal Highness Prince Andrew recently opened The University's new research and enterprise facility, 3M Buckley Innovation Centre. Named after the former CEO of 3M and graduate from The University, Sir George Buckley.
This was an excellent opportunity for the selected Surface Designer's to exhibit their work at the corporate event.
Professor Sir Patrick Stewart took keen interest in the work.
Surface Designers Danielle Mcgilloway, Deborarh Scott, Katie Soponski, Laura Greenwood and Katie Fisher all exhibited their work for the VIP's on the day, showcasing product concepts for design solutions including sculptural fashion and interior surfaces.
The show for this years Textile Design, Surface and Crafts is up and ready after an exciting few days of hard work...
We even managed to spare a bit of time to tidy up the mess...
Don't forget to visit us from the 15th - 21st of June in the Technology Building to have a look at all of the finished pieces, it's pretty good if we say so ourselves!
On arrival at the University, look out for the poster design and arrows which will be designated around campus to direct you to the Technology Building studios. Also keep a look out for the craft workshops timetable!
